About VSWT: The Legacy of Luke
No, not THAT luke... ME, my name's Luke too, and I was born before 1976... So Lucas must have stolen the name from me... Anyway If you're bored enough to be reading this, I might as well tell you why this site exists.
I'm just an average guy who simply loves the Star Wars universe. I did ever since I watched ANH for the first time at age 4 from the roof of my parent's station wagon, bundled up in my blanky at the drive-in. It is my earliest memory in fact, and I've been a collector of the toys ever since. Of course I did it for playful reasons the first decade, so more than a few of my collection have some nicks, scratches, and other wear marks from where they've been hung from the ceiling fan on high or buried the very realistic Sarlacc pit in my back yard... Of course the really damaged ones would obviously have too much sentimental value to me, so you won't be seeing those on this site.
I collected from kids at school for years and then in college I moved up to a retail collector's store and the occasional sci-fi convention, but the real fun came with eBay. Now one of my favorite hobbies is looking at other people's lots of figures at auction and hunting for a rare find. It's addictive.
Anyway, this site is the culmination of that hobby. It's not a business as I'm not going to be selling anything from it. I do plan on posting links to some eBay auctions from here, and of course I'll make them really entertaining for you guys! Hopefully there will be something of value here for everyone as well as you drink from the vine of my experience in collecting Vintage Star Wars Toys. That's the plan at least. Wish me luck, and I'll be happy to take any help you're offering towards making this the greatest Vintage Star Wars Toys resource on the planet.
